Our review

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4/5

The most-watched humanoid in the world, backed by serious engineering muscle from Tesla — but still more promise than product, with neither a confirmed price nor public sales.

Pros

  • +Fast generational progress from the 2022 Bumblebee prototype to the fluid Gen 2 in 2023
  • +In-house actuators and a 2.3 kWh battery, top speed 2.2 m/s
  • +Tesla's manufacturing and software base behind it (AI, mass production)
  • +Deployment in Tesla's own factories gives it a real testing ground

Cons

  • −Still only a pilot — no public sales and no confirmed price
  • −Many demos are teleoperated; marketing overstates the autonomy
  • −Deployment timelines have slipped repeatedly
